What you need to complete this form

Devon & Cornwall Police press office can provide photographs of those convicted of a crime, in accordance with ACPO and Force guidelines.

All images issued by the force remain under the copyright of Devon and Cornwall Police; permission for media organisations and publishers to use said images can be withdrawn at any time.

Mugshots issued by the force are for the express use of publication and/or broadcast in connection with the conviction and sentencing only; all use must remain contemporaneous.

Permission to reuse the image in connection with any other future reporting must be sought from Devon and Cornwall Police prior.

It is the journalists’ responsibility to provide full details before any photograph is released.

What happens after you submit this form

Your form has been submitted, and the Media Office have been notified

Photographs will only be released upon sentence of a crime when a custodial sentence has been imposed by the courts. Photographs will not be released upon conviction of a crime unless there are exceptional circumstances.

For the cases of a murder conviction a photograph of the offender may be released upon conviction, rather than sentence.

How do we use this information

This service stores the information you provide as you progress through the form. Form submissions for this service that are not fully completed are automatically deleted after 30 days. If you contact us about a failed online submission, with your consent, we may retrieve your incomplete submission if it is still available to us. At our discretion, we may also review and process incomplete submissions where there is a threat to life, injury or vulnerability identified within the incomplete submission.

Once your form is submitted and processed, the information is retained for 7 days by this service while the information is transferred securely to the relevant force information systems.
